The opening, by date
Each date below is a timestamp in the clinic's own account or a date the clinic confirmed. None of it is an estimate.
- Account opened. The setup steps were finished the same morning.
- First patient seen.
- Lindsey posted a review of Moonshot EHR on G2.
- hormoneregenmed.com moved onto Moonshot's website hosting, with the contact form writing straight into the clinic's lead list.
What the clinic runs on Moonshot
Scheduling and charting. Appointments, encounter notes, vitals, labs and medications in the patient profile. Pellet procedures record the lot used, and the inventory count moves when the note is signed.
Texting and fax in one inbox. Patient texts, portal messages and faxes land in the Communications screen with the chart one click away. Outbound faxes go from the same place.
E-prescribing. Prescriptions go through the built-in e-prescribing connection. No separate prescribing login.
Payments on the clinic's own merchant account. The clinic took an NMI merchant account rather than a platform processor. Cards are stored in a tokenized vault, charges run from the patient's Billing tab, and the receipt itemizes services, products and tax.
Patient portal. On by default. Patients open it from a texted or emailed link without creating a password, see their results and messages, and reply.
Website. As of October 18 the clinic's public site is served by Moonshot. The design is the clinic's own, unchanged. The contact form creates a lead in the EHR instead of sending an email that someone has to re-type.
The numbers
| First patient seen | August 31, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Patients | 50 |
| Appointments booked | 70 |
| Texts | 759 sent, 553 received |
These are counts from the production database for this one clinic on October 19, 2026. They are not projections and they are not averages across customers. A clinic that opens with an existing patient book will see different numbers.

"The Best Decision I Made for My New Clinic"
Lindsey C., APRN and owner, in her G2 review of September 28, 2026. Read the full review there. What this clinic changed in the product
A new clinic finds the gaps a mature one has learned to work around. Three of Lindsey's reports in August and September became product changes for every clinic on the platform:
Itemized receipts with tax. Her first taxed sale printed as one line. Receipts now list each service and product with its own tax line.
Medications dosed in units. Botox is stocked by the vial and given by the unit, and the drug catalog had no unit for that. It does now, so a 200-unit receipt and a 20-unit dose both count correctly against stock.
Fax attachments that stay readable. A fax she sent reported as failed when it had not, because the fax carrier changed the shape of its response. The connection now accepts both shapes and keeps a durable copy of every attachment.
All three are in production for every clinic. The receipts change is the September 4 entry in the changelog.
How opening went, in plain terms
There was no implementation team or formal project plan. Lindsey configured the account and set up the clinic's workflows independently, using Moonshot's self-service tools and email support as needed. Merchant account approval was a separate vendor process that proceeded alongside the clinic's launch.
Questions this clinic's opening answers
How long from signing up for Moonshot EHR to seeing the first patient? This clinic signed up on July 23, 2026 and saw its first patient on August 31. The account was usable the morning it was created; the weeks in between went to setting up the clinic.
Can a brand-new clinic get started with Moonshot without an implementation team? Yes. Lindsey used Moonshot's self-service tools to configure the clinic and get started independently, with support available by email as needed.
What does a prescribing clinic pay for Moonshot EHR? The Medical plan is $1,000 per month per location including one prescriber, with staff users free. Card processing runs on the clinic's own merchant account or on Stripe. Current prices for every plan and add-on are on the pricing page.
Method: the first-patient date is the clinic's own. Other dates and counts are read from the clinic's tenant in the production database with tenant isolation enforced, as aggregates only. No patient-level data was viewed in preparing this page. Published with the clinic's written consent.
