Medication inventory for your clinic.Know what you have and where it went.
Track lots, quantities, expiration dates, and stock activity in Moonshot. Keep medication inventory in the same platform your team uses for patient care.
A shared record of your clinic’s medication stock.
Managing stock means knowing more than how many vials are left. Your team needs to identify each lot, record what comes in and goes out, track expiration dates, and reconcile the recorded balance with what is on the shelf.
Moonshot brings those records into the platform you use for clinical work. Staff can inspect lot balances and activity in one place, giving the clinic a more consistent record to work from than separate inventory spreadsheets and disconnected notes.

Common workflow friction, the Moonshot capability, and the benefit to your team
Give the team a structured place to inspect and reconcile its records.
Traceability in practice
Follow the lot. Understand the movement.
A useful stock record connects the item, the lot, the quantity and unit, and the event that changed the balance. Keep receipt, use, and reconciliation in the same platform. Pharmacy prescriptions and ongoing medication lists remain separate from clinic stock movements.
Confirm the stock unit and the documented quantity.
Choose the correct lot for the supported administration or dispensing path.
Use the applicable controlled-stock and witness workflow; do not assume every medication action deducts stock.
Make an informed switch
Check the fit. Then plan the move.
For clinics managing medication stock alongside patient care. Software supports recordkeeping; it does not by itself certify your procedures or guarantee a regulatory inspection result.

Can Moonshot track medication inventory by lot and expiration?
Yes. Each lot has its own identifying information, quantity, unit, and expiration details. Activity records help you inspect receipts, dispensing, and other stock movements instead of relying only on a current total.
Does it support partial-vial or mg-level tracking?
Moonshot can show and track inventory quantities in the configured unit, including mg for relevant medication stock. Confirm the drug, concentration, catalog unit, and administration workflow for your setup. Do not treat mg, mL, and vial counts as interchangeable.
Does prescribing automatically deduct medication from inventory?
Prescribing and inventory are separate workflows. A pharmacy prescription does not necessarily involve stock held by your clinic. Review the exact charting, administration, and dispensing paths you use, including the applicable controlled-substance process.
Does this make my clinic DEA compliant?
Software alone cannot establish compliance or guarantee an inspection result. Moonshot supports lot tracking, stock activity, and record review. Your clinic must establish the appropriate procedures, access controls, reconciliation practices, and recordkeeping for its operation.
Can staff record waste and investigate discrepancies?
Moonshot includes waste entry and inventory reporting and variance workflows. Controlled-stock paths have their own required information. Demonstrate a waste event and a discrepancy scenario during onboarding so your team understands the record it must create.
Can it replace our inventory spreadsheet?
For supported medication-stock workflows, the platform provides lot balances and activity records that a spreadsheet would otherwise need to maintain. Before switching, reconcile opening balances, verify units and expirations, and decide how historical records will remain available.
Is inventory an additional software subscription?
Medication inventory is part of the Medical platform. Medical is $1,000 per location per month with one prescriber included, $200 per month for each additional prescriber, and unlimited supporting staff. There is no Moonshot platform transaction fee; payment-processor charges are separate.
What should we prepare before migrating inventory?
Prepare your drug catalog, suppliers, lot identifiers, quantities with units, expirations, and current physical counts. Agree on the import scope, reconcile the starting balances, and train the team on receipt, use, waste, and reconciliation before go-live.
