An AI receptionist that answers the clinic line.It books, cancels and takes messages inside the EHR.

Forward unanswered or after-hours calls to a number your clinic picks. The assistant greets known callers, lists services from your catalog, books with the same rules as online booking, cancels after a date-of-birth check, takes messages as tasks and transfers to staff.

Paid add-on · Pricing details

Every missed call is a booking that went somewhere else.

A front desk cannot answer every call during a busy hour or after close. A voicemail box does not book anyone. Moonshot's phone assistant answers those calls and works directly in your schedule, not in a separate answering service.

Because it books through the same core as your online booking page, slot, provider, lead-time and blackout rules match. When it cannot help, it takes a message that lands as a task for the desk, or transfers the caller when you have set a transfer number.

From a ringing phone to a task the desk can act on.

See what happens on a call and after it.

  1. Set up

The owner picks a number by area code, sets a greeting name, a staff transfer number and a monthly minute cap, then turns the assistant on in Settings.

  2. Answer

Forward the clinic line to the assistant's number when nobody picks up or after hours. Known callers are greeted by first name.

  3. Act

It lists services, finds open slots, books, texts a confirmation, looks up upcoming visits after a date-of-birth match, cancels, takes a message or transfers.

  4. Record

Each call is logged with an outcome, a summary and a recording link. Messages and calls that need follow-up become tasks; bookings land as normal appointments.

Calls answered. Nothing to reconcile afterwards.

What the phone assistant does not do.

  • It refuses medical advice, insurance questions and billing disputes, and offers a transfer or a message instead.
  • It does not take payments or refill medications.
  • Rescheduling is a cancel plus a rebook.
  • English only, and calls are capped in length.
  • A verbatim transcript is not stored. Moonshot keeps the call summary and the recording link.
  • When the clinic reaches its monthly minute cap, it stops scheduling and still takes messages.
  • A new number can sit in carrier review before it answers calls.

The AI phone receptionist, explained.

Does it replace our front desk?

No. It answers the calls your team cannot get to, books and cancels within your rules, and hands everything else to staff as a task or a transfer.

How do patients reach it?

Your clinic forwards its line to the assistant's number, for example when nobody answers or after hours. The number is picked by area code in Settings.

Does it give out patient details?

Only after the caller matches a date of birth on the same call, and only their own upcoming appointments.

What lands in the EHR after a call?

A call record with the outcome, a summary and a recording link. A message creates a staff task, and a call that needs follow-up creates a task too.

How is it priced?

It is a paid add-on the clinic owner accepts in Settings. Current packages are on the pricing page.
