Short answer Yes
Moonshot EHR includes a phone assistant that answers the clinic line, identifies the caller, verifies date of birth before revealing anything, lists services and prices from the catalog, books and cancels appointments through the same functions as the web booker, takes messages as tasks, and transfers calls when a transfer number is set. It comes in the AI + receptionist package at $250 per location per month with 500 minutes, or on its own at $200, with additional minutes at $0.40.
How it works in Moonshot
- The owner picks a number by area code, turns the assistant on, sets a transfer number, a greeting name and a monthly minute cap in Settings.
- Every call is logged with an outcome chip (Booked, Cancelled, Message taken, Transferred, Information only, Abandoned) and a recording link; messages become tasks for the desk.
- After booking, the assistant offers a text confirmation on the clinic's texting number, honoring opt-outs.
- New callers get a chart labeled as created by the phone assistant, so the desk knows where the record came from.
Limits, stated plainly
- English only. Calls are capped at ten minutes. There is no voicemail mode; unanswered intents become tasks.
- It refuses medical advice, insurance questions and billing disputes and offers a transfer or a message instead.
- Rescheduling is a cancel plus a rebook. The assistant never books inside the clinic's booking floor (one hour by default, adjustable up to seven days).
- New numbers can sit in carrier review for a few days before they answer calls.
What it costs
AI + receptionist: $250 per location per month, 500 minutes included, $0.40 per minute after. Phone assistant alone: $200 per month, same minutes. Usage alerts at 80 and 100 percent of the cap.
