Short answer Yes
Moonshot EHR prescribes electronically through ScriptSure, including controlled substances in Schedules II through V (EPCS). Prescribing is part of the Medical plan with no separate Moonshot fee. Each prescriber completes identity proofing and a two-person EPCS approval before their first controlled prescription, and a PDMP attestation step sits in front of every controlled script.
How it works in Moonshot
- The clinic owner connects the practice to ScriptSure from Settings. Each prescriber then enrolls through a self-service checklist that shows which rung they are on.
- Identity proofing runs through ID.me and usually clears in one to four days. EPCS access is then approved with two people present, which Moonshot support handles with the prescriber as the vendor's administrator.
- Prescriptions are written from the chart. Controlled substances require a PDMP attestation before the script is sent, and a controlled-substance pre-question gates the check box.
- Imported medication lists from a previous EHR show a needs-review badge until a clinician reconciles them, so nothing unreconciled becomes a prescription by accident.
Limits, stated plainly
- Enrollment is per prescriber and takes real days because of identity proofing; plan for it before opening day.
- Prescribing is on the Medical plan only. The Performance plan has no charting or prescribing.
- Moonshot does not dispense or run a pharmacy. Pharmacy ordering of office stock is a separate integration (Scripts.co) under the inventory feature.
What it costs
Included in the Medical plan at $1,000 per location per month with one prescriber; each additional prescriber is $200 per month. ScriptSure enrollment has no separate Moonshot charge.
