Short answer Yes
Moonshot EHR runs card payments on Stripe, NMI or TRX, in every case on the clinic's own merchant account, with no platform transaction fee added by Moonshot. Saved cards, memberships, pay links, booking prepay and receipts work on all three; installments and split tender run on NMI and TRX; card-present terminals run on Stripe (Stripe Terminal) and TRX (Verifone P200 Plus).
How it works in Moonshot
- Stripe is the default: the clinic connects its own Stripe account and is live the same day.
- NMI and TRX connect through the integrated-payments module. The clinic enters its gateway credentials in Settings, Moonshot activates the rail, and saved cards, memberships, installments and terminals run on it.
- Pay links and public checkout exist on every rail, so a patient can pay a bill or a booking deposit by text or email without logging in.
- Receipts are itemized on every rail, and reversals the processor made on its own are recorded back into the ledger.
Limits, stated plainly
- Authorize.net is not supported; the adapter was removed in October 2026.
- Gift certificates sell through Stripe Checkout only. Booking prepay on NMI and TRX takes a single required deposit rather than a full Stripe-style checkout.
- Underwriting is between the clinic and the processor. Moonshot provides a payments onboarding packet that collects what underwriters ask for, but it does not guarantee approval for hormone or GLP-1 practices.
What it costs
Stripe: no module fee. NMI or TRX: integrated-payments module at $200 per location per month. Processor rates are set by the processor, not Moonshot.
