Short answer Partly
Spruce can be the texting and fax carrier behind Moonshot EHR for a clinic that already uses it, and the Communications inbox works the same way on top of it. Spruce is optional: the native texting number and the native fax transport do everything most clinics need without a second subscription.
How it works in Moonshot
- A clinic sets Spruce as its SMS provider; texts sent from Moonshot go out through Spruce and replies land in the Moonshot inbox.
- Fax can run through Spruce or through Moonshot's own transport; both file inbound faxes to the Fax tab.
Limits, stated plainly
- Moonshot does not sync Spruce's own inbox, teams or phone trees; it uses Spruce as a carrier, not as a second front end.
- Spruce's per-user pricing is the clinic's to pay; the native rail has no per-user texting fee.

Questions people ask next
Should a new clinic buy Spruce?
Usually no. The native texting number and fax cover the clinic without it. Clinics that already run phones on Spruce can keep it as the carrier.
Can we switch from Spruce to the native number later?
Yes. The provider is a setting; patient threads stay in the inbox.
Does Spruce video or phone show up in Moonshot?
No. Only texting and fax run through the integration.
