Short answer Yes
Moonshot EHR includes video visits on the Medical plan. The patient joins from the portal or a link, the provider joins from the chart, there is in-session chat, the front desk can send a join link, and no-shows are handled by a scheduled job. Video runs on the Amazon Chime SDK. There is no separate telehealth fee.
How it works in Moonshot
- A telehealth appointment type creates the session; the patient's join link lives in the portal and in the reminder.
- Both sides' camera and microphone state is recorded during the call so the provider can see when the patient's media drops.
- Pre-join payment and forms gates were removed on purpose: a visit is never blocked at the door. Outstanding items are shown to staff instead.
Limits, stated plainly
- No group visits or waiting-room video queue; one patient, one provider, plus staff who join.
- Telehealth is not on the Performance plan.
- Whether a video visit can start a specific therapy in your state is a regulatory question; Moonshot records the visit, it does not decide that.
